1. the cost of moving is way more than we thought... 2-3,000 bucks just to rent a u-haul!
2. We still don't know where we're moving.
3. We have no guaranteed jobs where we're moving... so we need a butt-load of money to live off of until we can find jobs. If we can. Darn you, job market!
4.apparently application dates lied... well, not really. There's an unspoken rule (that we were not aware of) that the earlier you apply, the greater your chances are of getting financial aid. We were only aware that applications are due this summer... so we may not qualify for any financial aid at all.
where does this leave us? I have no idea. Here are some of the options we've thought of...
a. Move to (insert chosen state here) and hope for the best, search for a job, and hope to be accepted to a nearby grad school.
b. Have Jeff move to (insert chosen state here) for a month or two to find a job and an apartment before we move out there.
c. Move to whatever grad school Jeff is accepted to and defer until we can re-apply for financial aid
d. Stay here during the summer to save up more money until we move
Of course, all of this could change based on what grad schools Jeff is accepted to.
Cross your fingers for us as we're trying to figure this all out!
Yeah...that's why we sold all our furniture and packed our cars to the brim and then some. It was cheaper. Then you can use the money you would have spent on a uhaul for travel and settling expenses.
