It's been a while

I've been avoiding blogging. Most of you probably know why.

Jeff and I missed the grad school deadlines (stupid confusing websites..) but, I digress... anyways, we will be staying in Utah next year.
At first, I was devastated when we found out. I mean, if you haven't noticed, getting out of Utah is about the only thing that I can talk about. Really.

Can you blame me? While everyone pictures Utah as this really cool deseret, really this is all I see every day. Flat, ugly land covered in billboards for miles and miles. Don't get me wrong, the mountains were cool at first, but after staring at the same two mountains every day for the last 3 years, I'm pretty sure they're still same every day. Sometimes they have snow on them. (scratch that. they always have snow on them.)

So I didn't want to have to blog about it. Because that would make it true.
So I holed up in our windowless apartment for a while. Eating doritos and ignoring classes. Gaining hundreds of pounds (ok, more like two pounds, but still.)

But I'm done with the pouting and the coveting and [insert ugly words here], and I'm vowing to focus on the positives.

Blessings we have because we're staying in (gag) Utah:
- More time to Take the GRE
- Having an epiphany that I need my masters!!! (more to come in a later blog)
- Staying closer to friends
- Saving up money for when we're super poor again!
- More time to soak up the college experience!

And with that, here is a collage of all the things I am vowing to do with Jeff while we're here in Utah:

Tube down the Provo River

 Hike this. (mt. timp)

Go streaking across campus!!!
(Just kidding. Although a professor I TA for offered to pay us money to do it. But we would totally get caught and kicked out. boo.)

Finally Go here - (famous in Utah)

Finally see the Salt Lake. It looks kind of neat... right?

Go Camping here - Moab, Utah

And we're taking suggestions!!! Anyone have any?
(I'm going to need as many things to look forward to as possible!)

  2. I feel the same way Amber! We should do some of these fun summer things together. :)

Here are some of my suggestions:
-bonfires at Vivian park (or that general area)
-walk/hike/bike/rollerblade (whatver you are comfortable with) Bridal Veil Falls & Stewart Falls
-play a pick up game of Ultimate Frisbee (this may only appeal to me...)
-Ice block at the park in Rock Canyon
-Hit up the free outdoor concert music scene
-The first weekend of every month downtown Provo has a little shop exhibit thingy that sounds pretty dang cool

    Okay, there's my list. :)
