Drowning!

So the 18 credits is killing me, and I'm realizing that it's mostly because I don't know how to just let go.
In the past, I just always did all of my homework. It seemed absurd not to... the teacher tells you to do it, so I did it. But now I'm realizing that there just aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done. So I've started doing the unthinkable - not doing my homework. And now that I've started, I don't know how to stop! I just hope I can at least pass all my classes!

In other news, Jeff and I have started attending a family ward. In the LDS church, a "ward" is the way that the members are organized. Because there are so many members (particularly in Utah) you are assigned to a ward based on where you live, that way you can attend church with those you live close to.
As a newly-married couple attending BYU, we've had the choice of attending a BYU married ward, which is full of couples attending college, or we could attend a family ward, which is what most wards are like around the world - full of families of all different ages and stages in life. Unfortunately, for the last year we had been told that Family wards don't like BYU couples to attend their wards because they know we'll be leaving in just a short year or so. But our new ward is great! We've felt very welcomed already and we're looking forward to getting to know our new neighbors better.

This semester Jeff and I are trying to be more social. We realized that our first year being married we were just so into each other and loving being married that we kind of blocked off having friends! If you're reading this, and you feel like you're upset because we've been hermits, I'm deeply sorry. It wasn't anything personal to anyone... we were just loving newlywed life! Now that it's been a year and we're tired of each other (just kidding) we're trying to have more people over and trying to do more fun things. So, ask us to feed you sometime, and we'll totally say yes!

And that's the September news! Hopefully more exciting things to come in October...
