Day two - frustration

I've been increasingly frustrated with how many people seem to think that I haven't been able to lose weight because I haven't been doing the right things in the past. But let me emphasize - I was doing everything in my power to lose weight the past two months.

I was working out twice a day, I had stopped eating out, and was eating good, wholesome foods. And still gained weight.

Don't get me wrong, if I can lose weight on my own, I'll be ecstatic. But shouldn't it be easier for a 21 year old to lose weight?

  2. Hey Amber! It should be easier. I'm going to give you some advice. I've always been overweight, with exception of the 3 years I had an eating disorder, but when I stopped watching every morsel I gained all my weight back and more. I still was eating good and working out, but the weight was packing on quick. After I had my son, I was working out 4 hrs a day, seeing a nutritionist, but still the scale wouldn't budge. Everybody else around me was losing weight and I workd twice as hard as everyone else. SO I decided to go see doctors and I found out I have PCOS. It causes women to gain weight and have a near impossible time to lose weight. If you have ever cut out carbs, you'll notice you'll lose weight like crazy. With PCOS, you have problems metabolizing carbs, and unless you eat carbs in right proportions to protein your body stores it as fat. Moral of the story, go see a doctor, if you can your OB/GYN and ask for a PCOS panel. Good luck and don't let people discourage you. I've been called fat my entire life, just to find out 13 years later that it was beyong my control. Sorry for the long post. :-D

  3. Let's Intensity soon! I'm all the way behind you, girl! You've got a great support group going! I think Daisy's post is great advice. People also sometimes have tyroid issues, which also makes them gain weight uncontrollably.
    love you!

  4. Thanks guys!
Anonymous - seriously, thank you so much, whoever you are!

Daisy - I've never heard of that. But your comment honestly meant more to me than you can imagine. I'll definitely go to my OB GYN and ask her about that.

Michelle - I'm doing insanity every morning! Come join me! And also - they checked my thyroid, and the test came back negative.
