Excercise: Insanity in the morning (workout DVD) and Jogging for 30 minutes with Jeff at night.
Water Intake: Not enough. Only about 60 oz for the day.
I'm still having a hard time eating enough calories earlier in the day, not to mention having a hard time eating enough protein. I'm going to start drinking protein shakes, but besides that, does anyone have any good tips?
I would try and eat different type of high-protein foods before you start drinking protein shakes. Most protein shakes are not designed to help you lose weight but to build muscle after weight training. If you do decide to use them though, try and do so right after you work out. It's important to fuel your body after you work out with something--I usually stick to something like a banana or a granola bar. Bananas a great after cardio work outs or runs because they have carbs (fuel) and potassium (helps with cramps).
ReplyDeleteBack to protein though. The best high-protein low-fat foods are fish, eggs, and chicken. Tilapia is my favorite fish to cook because it doesn't taste "fishy" and it's really simple to cook (you can find it at walmart or costco or anywhere really). Eggs are a good way to get a protein boast in the morning paired with some whole grain toast. Eggs also have the good type of cholesterol that helps keep your heart healthy. Eggs are very, very good to eat if you're trying to lose weight or get in shape. Another good source of protein are beans.
Something I would suggest too is making sure you're eating every couple of hours, just small little snacks like an apple and peanut butter (which is another source of protein but not the best because it's not that low in fat, still a good choice though), strawberries, any fruit really, some carrot sticks. Try getting more fruits and veggies in your diet they are full of antioxidants and nutrients that your body needs.
