It features some amazing women, like Katie Couric, Condoleeza Rice, and my personal role model, Jean Kilbourne.
What we loved about the documentary was how it actually went into how the media affects men, not just women. And most of it focuses on how children are affected.
The whole thing made us both so aware of how critical we are of a woman's appearance - especially in the media. Or even old acquaintances, we've been guilty of saying "wow, so and so looks so good", or "I can't believe how much weight so and so has gained".
So we're challenging ourselves to ONLY comment on a person's personality, regardless of a man or woman. Even when we meet new people! It's easy to say "oh, I love your nails/shoes/watch", rather than to tell them "you have such a great personality".
Try it out! The first day we did, we only lasted an hour before messing up. How long can you do it?
I'm so sad I missed it!!! Do you know when it will be for sale?
ReplyDeleteit keeps saying that it will be on sale "soon".... but keep checking youtube, I keep seeing a few people trying to post it there!
ReplyDeleteOh man I want to see that so badly! I'm glad to hear you thought it was well done, now I'm even more excited to see it. Also, miss you!
