Jeff and I have started talking about different grad schools and where we would like to go, where we would realistically get in, and also what we could actually afford.
William and Mary is at the top of our list (because we both love Virginia), but I'm almost certain that it's not an accredited MFT program.
MFT = Marriage and Family Therapy.
I put a picture of the campus of William and Mary to the right - isn't it beautiful? And it's in Williamsburg, VA which is beyond beautiful!
Going to Oregon would be nice, but U of O is far too liberal with their MFT program (sorry ducks!) and Lewis and Clark is too small and too expensive.
So for now we're starting research over all the different grad schools we'd like to attend, as well as how much they cost, and what their requirements are. Sounds nerdy... but it's kind of fun! Wherever we end up will most likely where we will buy our first house, and hopefully be there for quite some time!
In the meanwhile, 2010, as I'm determined will be a year of firsts for me. Starting with my first C.
As many of you may know, I've been recently diagnosed with anxiety, which explains my obsession with perfect grades. So I've decided to get a C in one of my classes this semester.
It will be my very first C in my entire school career. No joke! I've had straight As from middle school and high school, and then finally had my first B in college. Again, all my grades are due to me stressing out about them, not because I'm smart. Jeff can tell you how hard I work and how much I stress over grades!
Jeff was astounded with this, so we decided to work toegther to help myself relax enough to get a C.
Good thing that we both have a ridiculous class together that may almost be impossible to get a B in... that makes things a little easier.
Along with learning to manage stress and learning to relax, we've started exercising more. On a whim, we bought Wii active, and so far we've been loving it! You look like a total idiot, but it's nice to be able to exercise in our living rooms instead of trying to jog in negative degree weather!
Other than that, life goes on. We both really want to get a dog. I actually feel like we need to raise a dog before we can have any kids. I'm pretty sure that the ranking goes plant, then dog, then baby... but I was unable to keep our one plant alive in our house. Guess that means we're not ready for a dog. Definitely not a baby!
I am really pushing for a turtle, though. I'd name him Harold, but Jeff tells me he'd call him Hank. Jeff secretly loves the turtle idea, but won't agree to it. Maybe one of these days I'll come home and surprise Jeff with Harold, the turtle.
I just think it'd be so cool to walk into the kitchen and see harold chillin' out on the floor! That would be awesome.
well, so far I'm doing much better at keeping up with blogging. Yay for New Year's resolutions that last past January!

so I linked to your blog from Annie's. it is very cute!
ReplyDeleteand, I think that you should get turtles. Paul and I just bought 2 baby red-eared sliders, and they are cuties! we could share with you all of our turtle knowledge!!
or just go for the dog.
PS good luck picking out a grad school
Hehe, I love that your goal is to get a C! I think that that is a great idea though...relaxing with grades and such. I was totally the same way in college...and all through school actually. So I totally understand.
ReplyDeleteI vote for the name Harold!
Just FYI...I read that any reptile is dangerous around child-bearing women, easily spreads salmonila (I'm sure that spelling is wrong.) NOT that you are thinking of adding children any time soon.
