Vegas!

Ok, so this last weekend was a three day week due to president's day. It was also valentine's day and our 6 month anniversary. Trust me when I say our 6 month anniversary really isn't that big of a deal, but it did make a great excuse to get away and celebrate!

So Jeff planned a vacation, and let me know that we would be going somewhere for the weekend, but didn't tell me where it would be at all! It made packing interesting... ha ha!

That friday, he picked me up from class, and we started driving... to vegas!

Friday night when we arrived I was shocked at how nice our hotel was. Jeff and I are certainly in no financial state to be taking vacations. We are the definition of poor, married college students! We have been known to donate blood when we're in need of money... ha ha! But Jeff found some amazing prices on Orbit that made our hotel affordable.

Our favorite thing of all of vegas was our pool. Our the hot tub had a waterfall in the middle! And it was a wonderful 70 degrees - much better than our snowy utah weather!

The first thing we did when we got there was check out the strip. Here are some of the pictures:

The flash kind weirded out, but this was in front of NY, NY.

Us in front of Paris.

There is something to be said about all those lights. Jeff commented "wow, this city really never does sleep" - oh so true.

We went to dinner at the ESPN Zone Restaurant. Awesome food,
awesome restaurant! The whole place was nothing but giant TV screens and recliners to sit back and watch the game. We watched the opening ceremonies of the Olympics there! So fun.

We even bought this t-shirt. In case you don't get it, try humming the theme song for Sports Center.

Then we walked down to the Bellaggio Hotel to see the fountains. It was beautiful!
The Fountains at Bellagio was definitely our favorite thing about Vegas.

The next day (Saturday) We decided to just walk up and down the strip... how naive we were! We had no idea how long the strip is, or how crowded it would be. But, we did have time to enjoy the fountains again, and the M&M store!

One of the purple M&Ms that I bought at the M&M store. You could buy any color you wanted! So of course, I went with my favorite color, Purple.

Jeff and I hung out with "Red", the M&M.

Mostly we just enjoyed the sunshine and the warm weather!

Sunday we tried to find a church building, but failed. Or as Jeff put it, "Google maps screwed us over."... which was true.

We have fun taking pictures to document the trip. Since there was no church building, this is our sappy sad face to document it:

Sappy, I know. But I'm mostly amazed at Jeff's face in this picture. Who knew that he had such giant lips? Not me.

As many of you know, Jeff and I are Mormon, and part of our faith is that we rest on Sundays. A part of that is not buying anything on sundays. We try not to support anyone else having to work on Sundays as well, which is why we don't buy anything.
On vacations, this can be harder. But we bought some cereal and crackers and snacked on it all day, and then woke ourselves up at midnight to go get some food!

While at our midnight dinner, we played a rousing game of truth or dare to pass the time. Jeff dared me to sing "I'm a little teapot" in the middle of the casino, which I did. He videotaped it for proof.

Monday we left back for Provo. But before hitting the road, we took some pictures at the famous "welcome to vegas sign"

Yeah, so the sun was definitely in our eyes.

Then at "all-you-can-eat" pancakes at Ihop, we played another rousing game of truth or dare, and I got Jeff back by making him sing "I'm a Little Teapot".

Of course my Dare was way more embarrassing than Jeff's. Psh.

And that was our trip to Vegas! Now it's back to school, work, and snowy Utah weather!
