It's happened... despite my best attempts.
Duh Duh Duh! (insert spooky halloween music here)
The married 15.
What is the married 15, you may ask?
Much like the freshman 15, the married 15 is when you gain about 15 pounds your first year of being married.
If you've never experienced this, then you're probably not married. And if you are married and you haven't experienced this, then we can no longer be friends.
When you're married, you start passing up working out for spending time with your husband instead. I've been doing my best to stay active and eat healthy, but alas, here I am - exactly 15 lbs later.
Here's a picture from homecoming 2008. Two years and 15 lbs ago, back when Jeff and I were looking skinny and feeling good. And I didn't have to work out and I magically stayed the same weight. Ah, those were the days.. |
The funny thing is that I'm way under calories... I'm eating about 1,000 a day! Not because I'm trying to starve to lose weight, but because when I'm busy, I kind of forget to eat until dinner time. I wonder if my body's holding onto weight because of this... hmm
Anyone have some good suggestions on how to lose the married 15 that fits with a busy schedule?
Web MD has all kinds of workouts. (And I trust their advice more... less likely to be fad diets or poor workouts) just an idea to check out...
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh...amber. you are my hero. i seriously look in the mirror everyday and go, "where the heck did this come from!" and i am way under calories too, it's so odd...i think zumba and pilates are BOMB. next semester when i don't have class during the workout times we can go every time! and i hear eating too little puts your body in starvation mode or something so it like trys to hold onto your calories? who knows if that's true or not...haha
